Orly Bendavid is a Creative Arts Psychotherapist who graduated in from New York University with a Masters in Music Therapy. For over a decade she has worked as a Music Psychotherapist in the public sector (Juvenile Justice, Children and Family Services, Hospitals, End of Life), and in private practice. She is the owner of illumind Psychotherapy.
In her private practice Orly specializes in treating addiction, alcoholism, co-dependency, dating, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and couple counseling. She has also had success working with individuals who experience performance anxiety, creative blocks, grief counseling, and end of life treatment. Orly aim’s to integrate mindfulness skills, creative arts therapy, attachment and family systems theory in her work. She believes that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves, we often just have trouble accessing the voice that will guide and direct us to that safe loving space.
Orly Bendavid’s personal history with music, performing, and songwriting is eventually what led her to her work in Music Psychotherapy. As a person who truly did not find her voice until she was eighteen years old, Orly’s mission is to help individuals find insight and a connection to themselves through their own unique mode of expression.
